WE STAND ON THE VERGE OF THE LARGEST HEALING ...

Jesus is the Bread of Life. When you partake of the Bread of Life then you are entering into a state of existence that the human and Jesus have become ONE in Union. Can you think of that? Can you imagine that? An existence in which your life-spirit is ONE with the Life-Spirit of Christ: or saying it another way you have become ONE with God. That is Jesus is the Bread of Life. In Christ you have been given a God-kind of Life that nourishes your spirit man/woman.

I was pondering the Bread of Life because I just finished reading a prophet essay written by Bobby Conner that was placed on the Elijah List email that I receive. Brother Conner's message prophetic message is that a huge healing explosion is about to occur all because of the Bread of Life.

WE STAND ON THE VERGE OF THE LARGEST HEALING MOVEMENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE CHURCH!

Bobby Connor

Elijah List

July 28, 2007

I have experienced the outstanding privilege of being in ministry meetings when suddenly the entire room would be filled with the overwhelming smell of fresh baked bread. In most of the cases when this occurred, we would experience marvelous manifestations of divine healing. Jesus states that healing is the children's bread (see Mark 7:27). This bread for the sick and hurting is the Lord Jesus serving the bread of His Presence, for He is the Healer. The Holy Spirit is releasing an awesome anointing for healing in our day; this anointing is going to be placed upon the Body of Christ.

In a prophetic visitation the Lord said to me, "Tell the Church, ready or not here I come, and I have a gift in My hand--it is the gift of healing. It will be placed upon the Body, not just upon somebody." We have witnessed the marvelous gift of healing move and minister while resting upon somebody. For example, Benny Hinn moves in an awesome gift of healing and miracles. This is wonderful, and we so appreciate all God is doing through this wonderful man of God. However, what is coming will be far more awesome--a powerful anointing of healing and mighty miracles moving upon the entire Body of believers. Many years ago, I was sent by the Lord to prophesy to Benny Hinn, telling him that soon there would come a day when children would be moving in the power and anointing he is walking in. I will never forget his response...His eyes danced and sparkled as he said with absolute joy, "Bobby, I know, the Lord has also told me that! Let us pray for that day to fall upon us now."

We stand on the very verge of the largest healing movement in the history of the Church. One of the reasons this healing anointing is coming is that we are going to need it. It is time to pray for Heaven's bread to be served in our meetings--offering prayer for the sick, anointing with oil, praying the prayer of faith, and expecting the Lord to manifest Himself as the Bread of Heaven given for our healing.

Bread For The Sinful And Hungry

In Exodus 16, God answered the cry of His people for bread as they journeyed in the wilderness. This pure, white, round bread that God caused to rain down from Heaven upon His hungry people as they griped and grumbled about their wilderness walk, was a foreshadow or reflection of Christ Jesus. For example, it came down from God out of Heaven; it was white, which speaks of purity; it was round speaking of being endless, eternal. Christ declares that He is indeed the Bread sent down from Heaven.

"I am the Bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst" (John 6:35). How grateful we are to God for His wonderful provision of the Bread of Heaven. Only as we receive and partake of Him do we have true life. None need to starve or stumble in darkness, since we have been given the Light of the World and the true Bread of Life for our wilderness journey.

Sharing Heaven's Bread

It is time also to share the Bread of Heaven with hungry, hurting humanity. Our world is starving and desperate for Heaven's Bread, the Living Christ. There is a remarkable story recorded in the seventh chapter of second Kings. Here we see people in the midst of a great famine. Never had there been such a desperate time. People were even stooping to cannibalism, eating their own children (see 2 Kings 6:25-29).

In the midst of such need, the prophetic word recorded in 2 Kings 7:1 came to God's people. The prophet Elisha stood and declared boldly, "Hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord, 'Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.'" This is a bold prophetic statement! Right in the middle of this horrible famine, the prophet announces that on the next day, there will be so much food available that it will almost be given away free.

We are instructed to trust in the Lord and we will be established, and to believe His prophets and we will prosper (see 2 Chronicles 20:20). Notice the response of one of the not so wise leaders in 2 Kings 7:2 who said in so many words, there is no way that even with God's intervention something like this could ever happen. To which Elisha replied you will see it with your eyes, but you will not be one to take part in the provisions. You can see the outcome of this man's unbelief in 2 Kings 7:17-19. He was trampled to death by the people rushing to eat of the food that God had provided. It is shocking and surprising how and who God used to provide such a mighty miracle. We must remember it is in our weakness that God's strength is made perfect, for when we are weak He is strong.

We must be like the four lepers in 2 Kings 7:9. These pitiful, sick, dying men made a choice to change their situation. Asking the question, "Why sit here until we die?", they were compelled to get up, go forward, and seek a change. Can't you see these four pitiful men with advanced leprosy as they stood upon their wounded feet that were infected, filled with painful sores? I can see them as they weakly stand, supporting each other as they attempt to steady their trembling bodies, limping off into the unknown, and knowing only that there must be more than what they are experiencing now. What about you, are you too sick and tired of the lack of spiritual food, are you ready to get up and advance into the unknown? Do you too need to ask yourself, "Am I going to sit here until I die?" We will never seek change if we are content with our situation.

As the lepers entered into the camp of the enemy soldiers who surrounded Jerusalem, they discovered it had been quickly and completely vacated. The enemy, in abject terror, had fled leaving behind not only the tables filled with wonderful bread and foods, but all their wealth. The question is how could four weak, pathetic lepers strike such terror and fear into the hearts of such a formidable foe? The answer is found in 2 Kings 7:5-7. The Lord God had made the foe to hear the sound of a mighty army advancing, bringing about these overwhelming results. When these four men entered the camp there was no opposition at all, only tables of food and tents filled with treasure.

These starving men filled their stomachs full. Then they were filled with another hunger--the need to share what they had found with others. They were gripped with the understanding that they were responsible for sharing, with other starving people, the bread they had found. For those of us to whom the Bread of Heaven has been given, we too must share Him with others. It is the cry of my heart that God will release outstanding grace in order for us to share Heaven's Bread with the hurting and hungry of the world. Amen!

Many Blessings,

Bobby Conner

When Bobby starts sending his food and his money to Darfur, then I'l be impressed.  Until then, this only strikes me as rhetoric, and poorly preached rhetoric at that.

People need us to be the hands and feet of Jesus.  They don't want to hear about Christian metaphors that they don't understand.  We need to learn to communicate to our culture, just as Jesus did.  We need to go to Samaria, just as Jesus did.

When I see feet to sermons like this, then I'll be impressed.  Social justice in the world is what we're here for.  The salt of the earth, the light of men.

Anyways, just my opinion.  I have a million, they're all free.  And one thing I've realized… if you want to communicate God's love to people in this community, you've got to lose the Christian-eze.  They don't get it, they don't want to get and it makes them mad.

If you're interested in how better to communicate in this community and to the culture at large, I would suggest Brian McLaren's book Evangelism As Dance In The Post Modern Matrix.  Extremely insightful  And if I'm mistaken and this post is for the church, then I would question ….. Why here?

A bit of a cranky response for a Christian Pastor.

Are speaking of the same McClaren that said that N. Korea is not such a bad nation that persecutes Christians in order to get a preaching engagement in N. Korea. Hmmm…

Often times social justice follows the prayers that act on the prophetic words. God's Word does not return void.

“Why here?” Zaadzsters seem to utilize new age self-help ideology to promote wealth building and a better life. I offer an alternative paradigm to a better life - The Church as portrayed in the Word of God.

The church portrayed in the word of God? Would that be a Binny Hinn disciple? I’m sorry, but a man as big a charleton as that, already exposed by 20/20, who lives in the midsts of wealth… If someone associates themselves with him, I would not call them brother. I would call them instead to repentence.

I don’t know if Brian McLaren is involved in anything having to do with North Korea or not. He doesn’t need to do anything to get speaking engagements. While I don’t agree with all of his theology (who agrees with anyone altogether?) he speaks a prophetic voice. A voice that calls the church to be the church, not some health and wealth obedience gets you blessings type of crap.

The church protrayed in the Word of God… mmmmm you tell me where it exists like that… like Acts 2:42 because I want to go there.

And as for “utilizing new age-self help ideology to promote wealth building and a better life, you are right on.” At least they don’t disguise theirs as Christian charity. But my point was this… arcane proof texted……. stuff…. whatever the heck it is (and its not homily) doesn’t make sense to most of the Christan church, let alone people who don’t speak the language.

When Paul preached on Mars Hill, he started from the beginning and spoke the language of Athens. He didn’t preach 2 Kings to a bunch of Hellenistic pagans.

And I’m sorry if this sounds …. cranky …. Stuff like this just really gets me going. I’ve got advanced degrees in philosphy of modern worldviews and apologetics. This is not an apologetic. This is useless because it doesn’t address anything relevant to the audience. And if he’s a prophet, how long do we give him for this to come true before we take him out in the streets and stone him as God’s law commands?

And just for the record, I associate with emerging, not emergent - meaning the missional aspect. I am thoroghly orthodox. For an explanation of emerging vs. emergent see my blog on is the church changing and follow the link to wikepedia There is a video clip on Youtube by Mark Driscol which explains the difference.

Pastor Mike you have an impressive academic portfolio. Which means you view those with Biblical faith as backward people who believe in myths, yes?

As for Benny Hinn: I saw that as well. I believe in a prosperity message some of these preach however I do not believe in it in such a way as to live glamorously on the donations of Christians. On the otherhand if the riches came from marketing (books, tapes, etc), what is to expose? It is not a sin to be wealthy, it is a sin to put your wealth above the love God, fellow believers and bringing unbelievers into the Kingdom of God.

I believe prophetically that many prosperity preachers have been exposed bringing the consequences of disrepute to themselves (much like Annanias and Saphira lying about their wealth to the people of God and paying a heavy price).

There is a bit of hypocrisy on all levels of professed big dog leaders among Christians, it is not just the prosperity preachers. McClaren (or is McLaren?) as I pointed out has flirted with the publicity in North Korea: trust among his camp that meant money even if it meant denunciation from the more Christian Right.

There are the homosexual and pedophilia scandals of the Catholic Church. And there are probably more, I just can't think of them off the top of my head.

A wise Christian once said, “At least be as smart as a cow: Eat the hay and spit out the sticks.” That applies to the wisdom accrued from academics and us simpletons who read their Bibles and believe what it says.

mmmmmmmmmm…..

Very true. It’s not a sin to be rich. It’s a sin to die rich. I love one thing about Rick Warren… he reverse tithes. And not all big dogs have fleas. Bob Russelll from Southeast Christian Church is one of the humblest men I’ve ever met. I couldn’t find any fleas on him, but maybe it’s cause he’s from my tribe. Southeast by the way is a mega church in Louisville KY. Almost the size of Willow.

And (laughing) I’m not trying to tell you that you are a simpleton. If that is what you took away from this exchange, then it is I who needs to repent. My comments where, in my mind, directed at Bobby Conner, who, if he is leading a church anywhere, which I assume he is, then he should know better.

And maybe I need to do some soul searching an repent anyway. I let my emotions get the best of me and have offended you. If you will accept my apology, I will promise you that my sole intent in being here is to learn from others and in so doing be a better communicator to the culture at large. We have a saying in my tribe… In Essentials Unity, In Opinions Liberty, and In All Things Charity. A discussion about whether the sign gifts are still alive and well in the church or whether they died with the apostles has nothing to do with salvation and is an opnion. An opinion, I might add, that is held by many.

Peace,
Michael

I like the motto: In Essentials Unity, In Opinions Liberty, and in All Things Charity. It is an awesome saying as long as the Opinions do not violate the Word of God.

I guess I kind of took your (how do I say) words of displeasure with Bobby Connor personally. I enjoy the ministry God has given to him. Old Bobby does not have a Church nor a nationally sydicated televangelist show. He is an Iternerant evangelist from the mold of “Toronto Blessing” and current renewal prophets.

The opinion that is held by many may even be the majority, I probably hold less of a grudge to that belief than the many (or majority) hold toward my beliefs in the Gifts of the Spirit.

As to the apology: don't worry about it Pastor, you are entitled to your opinion. I think we can agree to disagree as Christian brothers should be able to.

I also apologize, I tend to shoot from the hip if I do not like the criticism. Pray for me on that one, it is a difficult vice to overcome.

I do too (shoot from the hip, that is). There was a blog that was starting to talk about this… in one way or another. I framed it as trying to practice the ministry of presence in an online forum. You might want to check it out. It’s under the Christianity thread… tis called The Aware Self in Therapy and Relationships. I left a comment.
